With the catastrophic fires that raged through our community, I am compelled to re-direct proceeds of my event’s Fund-A-Need to the fire relief efforts of The Salvation Army in Napa and Sonoma Counties.
At the onset of the fire, our local Salvation Army activated their response teams. In the first 7 days, they provided meals to evacuees and first responders; over 22,386 in Napa County and over 39,901 in Sonoma County. For the next 6 months they will operate and man the local post-fire relief centers where they provide food, clothing, gift cards and toiletries to local families. In addition, they will supply housing and utility subsidies to those displaced and to local service employees who find themselves out of work and struggling to make ends meet.
Event and sponsorship proceeds will continue to support The Salvation Army’s Culinary Training Program providing jobs skills training and employment to residents recovering from trauma or addiction.
Fund A Need proceeds will specifically target those affected by the Napa Sonoma fires. 100% of Fund A Need donations will remain in Napa and Sonoma Counties.
